Would we need to buy what we already own ?

Hi all,
I was looking around and saw a lot of shops in diagon alley. It occurred to me that students that are in higher years, 4th, 5th etc, would already have a lot of items that all 1st years would need to buy. For example, Duncan bought his wand for 1st year and assumably a cauldron some googles, random safety equipment and so on. Every student would need to buy new books,. but what else would higher years need to buy instead of just list as already owned inventory ?

Any ideas ?

well-you could always check the classes. They have a lit of things that they require. I'm not sure if they have the books though.
